Fun fact: Whac-A-Mole was invented in Japan back in 1975, for some reason I always thought it was an American game.
Another fun fact: NYC metro area is most expensive for car insurance in the USA, and Brooklyn tops it.
I was surprised to see my Geico renewed premium go up significantly enough to notice, as it appeared – due to global car insurance rates jumping 20% in 2023.
Exploring my options I learned about Geico DriveEasy program – you get about 10% discount just for installing a tracking app that rates your driving using the latest advancements in Machine Learning and AI, and maintains the discount if your driving is good.
I always considered myself a good driver, not a single accident in 15 years, but DriveEasy disagreed. It decided that some of my downhill skiing was actually driving, and probably did not appreciate my excessive cornering while carving. Geico rep kindly suggested for me to track my trips and to modify them in the app, which I kindly refused as I’m not a big fan of manual labor.
Then DriveEasy decided that my driving skills were improving and I get to keep the discount. NYC subway is smooth and slow.
